LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - More and more teens are pulling a stupid stunt - car surfing, also called ghost riding.

A video posted on youtube shows a young man attempting to car surf, which is where drivers get out of a moving vehicle and try to stand on the hood or roof while it's still moving.

A study in the Journal of Neurosurgery says since this dumb idea hit the web, business is increasing for neurosurgeons because, if they live, 100 percent of the car surfers they see after trying this are treated for a serious head injury.

The study found boys were more likely to be injured than girls, and the head was the most common body region to be injured. California, Florida and Texas have the highest fatality rates.
