LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - If your daily exercise plan has you feeling burned out; how about a good workout that won't even make you sweat?
Many doctors recommend water aerobics as a better solution for seniors or anyone with joint trouble because it is low-impact, highly effective, and the exercises are so simple. "Jumping jacks, criss-crosses, you do snow skiing, deep water jogging. There's just many, many different types of exercises that you can do without any form of equipment.
Then you don't get the muscle soreness that you do and you get tightened, toned, burn more calories in the water", says water aerobics instructor, Julie Beard. That's because in the water, you only need to support 10% of your body weight, so it's less stress on your joints. If you're interested in water aerobics, call the Lifestyle Center At Covenant or the YWCA for class times.
