LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Police stumbled upon a shooting case late Friday.  At about 9:15 pm, police were already at 7-Eleven at 8th and Avenue Q for unrelated reasons.  They say two men drove up to the convenience store and an officer discovered that one had been shot in the leg.  The victim indicated that the shooting took place outside an apartment complex at 9th & Avenue R.

Police quote the victim as indicating he was a passenger in a truck, and got out  to see a man in the apartment complex.  Police further quote the victim as saying he ran back to the truck, and told the driver to take off in hurry, because the suspect was acting "crazy".  But the suspect shot a firearm before the truck could leave.

It was not made clear to NewsChannel 11 if the suspect is same person originally sought by the victim.

Police say they are looking for a black male, about 30 years of age, wearing a black dew rag, a white shirt, and blue jeans. Police did not have suspect vehicle description.

Police identify the victim as Travis English, 33.
