LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock Master Gardeners hosted a water wise garden tour Saturday afternoon. Each garden was set up with water conserving plants that people could look at to get ideas about how to make their own garden conserve water.
Every year, Lubbock never receives enough rain to keep everyone's lawn and garden's green. Saturday, many Lubbockites walked through five different home gardens to find the secret to keeping a beautiful garden with out using a lot of water. "Kind of decide which is better for you in terms of what kind of look you want, because a lot of people think it just needs to be stone and cactus, and I think you'll find that there is a lot of different options that you don't have to make it look like a desert scape, but it still can save and preserve water," Marilyn Caul with Lubbock Master Gardeners said.
More people are now turning to water conserving plants in their own homes and businesses. Coming up tonight on NewsChannel 11 at ten we will hear from a garden expert about the benefits to using water wise plants.
