LEVELLAND, TX (KCBD) - At least 20 people arrested in a Hockley County drug ring have a date to appear in a Lubbock Federal court this morning.
Prosecutors say Bobby Froman ran a meth ring, with help from members of a motorcycle gang. He waived his right to a detention hearing, which means the judge will likely order him to stay in jail until his trial.
In the meantime, Federal Judge Sam Cummings has yet to rule on whether former Hockley County Sheriff's Deputy Gordon Bohannon will be allowed out on bond.
A Federal magistrate ruled last week that Bohannon could bond out. Prosecutors appealed the decision, saying that he poses a serious flight risk.
Most of the defendants were arrested in the July 10th drug bust in Hockley County.
