LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A dozen people arrested in a major drug ring in Hockley County appeared before a Lubbock judge Monday morning. All 12 accused pleaded not guilty. If convicted, each of the defendants faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and up to a $4 million fine.
Among those in court Monday was Sharon Froman, the wife of Bobby Froman, who prosecutors say ran a meth ring with help from members of a motorcycle gang. Sharon is out of jail until her September trial date. Another round of hearings is scheduled for Wednesday at 3 p.m. Bobby Froman himself is scheduled to appear then.
In the meantime, Federal Judge Sam Cummings has yet to rule on whether former Hockley County Sheriff Deputy Gordon Bohannon will be released on bond. Bohannon is accused of conspiring in the drug ring.
The trials are scheduled to begin September 22nd. All defendants remain in custody Monday night.
