Idalou man has seen 50 years of changes to Idalou Fire Department

IDALOU, TX (KCBD) - One of the men fighting the West Texas Lee fire is a 56-year veteran of the Idalou Fire Department. For 25 of those years, Ed Wilbanks has been the Fire Chief. When he started, the Fire Department was inside a barn under the water tower. Over the years they've expanded from three fire trucks to seven.

"We're just well-equipped and probably have the best fire department in Lubbock County, I hope. We've got the equipment and we've run a bingo hall for several years to get money and that's how we bought all these trucks," says Wilbanks. For Your Cell Phone
