LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Thirteen people have been displaced following a fire at an apartment complex on the West Loop.

The fire broke out around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning after lightning struck the Park Central Apartments in the 5700 block of 50th Street.

The flames damaged the roof  and attic in three units. Investigators say that dozens more may have smoke damage. Six adults and seven children were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.

At least three units were damaged by fire, but many more may have smoke damage. Most residents should be able to get back into their apartments Wednesday evening.
