LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - From West Texas to Colorado, safes have been reported stolen and now Lubbock police need your help to track down the suspects.

Lubbock police began their investigation back in March and, so far, they have identified up to 11 suspects. Several were arrested in June, while committing a burglary near Dallas. During the course of that investigation, authorities found a safe, later tied to a burglary here in Lubbock.

"What makes these burglaries unique compared to other what you might call routine burglaries, these burglaries were well planned, well thought out, they involved, a coordinated organized effort among several people," said Captain Greg Stevens, Lubbock Police Department.

A grand jury has indicted six people for organized crime, two of whom are in custody. Carl Steward, 27, and Dannie Mitchell, 44, are locked up in the Lubbock County Jail.

The remaining four suspects are still at large and could be in the Lubbock area. If you have any information, please call Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
