LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An insurance company is suing the City of Lubbock. It is related to the fight between the city and businessman, Ted Parker.
The city accuses Parker of overcharging taxpayers as much as $6 million. Parker denies the allegations, saying they are politically motivated. Each side has sued the other. Then in 2008, the Federal Bureau of Investigation raided the Lubbock City Hall for documents in the case. However, no charges were ever been filed.
On Wednesday, Travelers Insurance filed suit, saying it wants to no longer defend the City of Lubbock or pay a claim if the city loses.
