LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Lubbock I.S.D. more than doubles its number of top rated schools in the state accountability ratings. The Texas Education Agency released the results yesterday. 18 of L.I.S.D.'s 25 campuses received the state's highest accountability rating of "exemplary." Only eight were on the list last year.
All high schools in the district were rated "acceptable." Despite the good news, two middle schools- Alderson and Dunbar- rated "unacceptable." L.I.S.D. says those schools began intensive improvement efforts this summer.
In Lubbock-Cooper I.S.D. all three elementary schools rated exemplary. The middle school and high school were recognized. Frenship I.S.D. also received exemplary ratings for each of their elementary schools. All other campuses received a rating of either acceptable or recognized.
