LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We have an update in the case involving a former Hockley County Sheriff's Deputy accused in a drug ring.
Gordon Bohannon's attorneys have until Friday to prepare a response to Judge Sam Cummings on why the court's motion to let Bohannon out on bond should be upheld. A federal magistrate ruled July 22, that Bohannon could bond out until his trial. But prosecutors immediately appealed the decision. So, Bohannon will stay in jail until Cummings rules on that appeal.
If Bohannon is allowed to bond out, he will be prohibited from entering Hockley County and from contacting potential witnesses or codefendants.
