Cotton Center murder victim identified

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The identity has been released for the man who was beaten and dragged behind a car across the Lamb and Hale county lines.

The official cause of death for 52-year-old Ronald Gordon Bures was blunt force trauma to the head. His identity was revealed after confirmation from a fingerprint analysis.

Officials have also confirmed that he was a roommate of Mickey Dale Birchfield and Bradford Stanley Halderman at County Road 272 and 317 in Southeast Lamb County. Birchfield and Halderman have been arrested on homicide charges.

Bures' body was dragged along county roads and down a turn row across Hale and Lamb county lines for 3.8 miles.

One man dead, two charged with murder in Lamb County
In Littlefield, one man is dead and two men are in custody charged with murder.  This is the first homicide in Littlefield in more than eight years.
