LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The thinking has always been that kids are too emotionally immature to experience depression before age three.
Now, researchers at Washington School of St. Louis analyzed 300 pre-schoolers and discovered that 75 of them met the criteria for a major depressive disorder and another 79 already showed signs of anxiety.
The bottom line is if you think your pre-schooler is suffering from anxiety or some disruptive disorder, don't assume they're too young for that. It's worth checking out to catch problems early.
