Plainview bicyclist killed in hit and run - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Plainview man is dead after being hit by a car, while on his bicycle. The accident happened around 3:15 p.m. Monday, in the 1600 block of North Columbia in Plainview.

Police say Jose DeLuna, 55, was riding his bike when he failed to yield the right of way to traffic. They say that's when Emilda Pena-Rodriguez, 41, hit him with her car, and fled the scene.

DeLuna was taken to Covenant Hospital in Plainview where he later died. Pena-Rodriguez was arrested for failure to stop and render aid.
