One dead, one injured in two car collision

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - One woman is dead and a man is hospitalized after a two car collision in east Lubbock. The accident occurred around 1 p.m. Friday afternoon at east 4th Street and Loop 289.

Lubbock police tell us 54-year-old Barbara Morgan was driving a gray Buick west bound on east 4th Street approaching the East Loop, while 20-year-old Perry Wilson in another gray car was driving north bound on the access road of the East Loop when they collided.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time. Both drivers were alone in their vehicles. The access road of the East Loop is controlled by a stop sign where Wilson was driving, but it is too early into the investigation to know if he stopped at that stop sign. Morgan was pronounced dead at the scene and Wilson was taken to Covenant with moderate injuries.

Making a Kit for an Emergency Situation

When preparing for a possible emergency situation, it's best to think first about the basics of survival: fresh water, food, clean air and warmth.
