ANDREWS, TX (KCBD) - About 100 people spoke out against a potentially dangerous substance being brought to West Texas. The U.S. Department of Energy visited Andrews for the sixth of eight public meetings on prospective sites for federally mandated mercury storage.

About 100 people attended the Thursday meeting to discuss the possibility that the Waste Control Specialists waste site could be chosen.

The WCS site is the only privately owned location among the seven considered nationwide.
