Jail inmate escapes, captured 11 hours later in Clovis

By James Clark | email

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - It was almost one year ago that eight men escaped from the Curry County Detention Center, about a two-hour drive Northwest of Lubbock.   Sunday morning another man escaped but he was caught about 10 hours later.   An official statement says Bobby Owen, 25, was held for burglary and other charges.   Escape will be added to that list.

As for that escape a year ago, only one suspect remains at large.   He is Edward Salas who is accused of killing a 10-year-old boy in a drive by shooting.   Officials say he could be hiding in Eastern New Mexico or West Texas.
