Another Running for Combest's Seat

And then there were six. Another person has decided to run for Larry Combest's seat. Republican Bill Christian announced his intention to run Thursday at the Mahon Library. Christian votes and owns a home in Midland, but also serves as the officer in charge of a marine reserve center in Lubbock.

Including Christian, six people have officially filed to run for District 19. Thursday, Governor Perry set the special election for May 3rd. The district stretches from Crane County, south of Midland, to Parmer County in the Panhandle.

Here's the list of candidates that have filed to run for office:

  • Bill Christain
  • Carl Isett
  • Randy Neugebauer
  • Carroll Thomas

Larry Combest will officially resign on May 31st.
