Statement from Don McBeath
I am today announcing that I do not anticipate being a candidate in the upcoming 19th congressional district special election. Over the past two months, I have given strong consideration to becoming a candidate. I have counseled closely with family and friends. I am pleased at the level of enthusiasm, commitments, and support I have received from all across the district. However, my family and I believe that now is not the time for a political campaign of this nature. I will however, continue to give consideration to a potential run for this seat in the March 2004 primary.
