Dangerous Turn for Afternoon Collision

A collision in central Lubbock ended with one of the vehicles catching fire. It happened about 4 p.m. at 34th St. and Nashville. Police say a station wagon pulling a trailer was going west on 34th when the trailer came loose. The trailer hit a truck going east and they both burst into flames. Firefighters say the trailer may have been loaded with flammable materials like paint thinner or diesel. The collision completely diverted traffic on 34th going both ways.

Fortunately no one was injured in the incident.
