Water main break in East Lubbock may slow drivers

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A water main break cause some traffic delays near 19th and Avenue A Friday morning.

A water main break happened around 8 a.m., flooding the street with water. Officials say that it was an old cast-iron line and it burst from age. It was capped off and patched.

This water main is part of 34th Street line replacement project that goes from the Marsha Sharp Freeway from Quaker, south to 34th Street to Avenue A and then back to 19th Street.

Crews are currently working the area between Avenue Q and Avenue A and the project is expected to be completed by then end of the year.
