David Langston made that announcement on Tuesday. Langston also announced that he will change parties and run as a Republican.

He served as Lubbock's mayor from 1992 to 1996. Langston's candidacy brings the total number of official candidates to six. Combest is resigning and will leave his office on May 31st.
