PETA puts up controversial billboard near Texas Tech - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

Lubbock, TX (KCBD) - PETA or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals has put a controversial billboard near Texas Tech. It's along the 2600 block of Clovis road less than 2 miles from the Tech entrance.  The billboard features a picture of a caged cat alongside the text "witness cruelty in a laboratory?"

PETA officials say they hope the billboard directs people to call or e-mail them with any relevant information about the use of cats in medical training or other animal experiments at the school. Texas Tech officials have always denied that practicing anesthesia on cats is equivalent to cruelty.
