Water district sets 2009 property tax rate - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Here's some good news from the High Plains Underground Water Conservation District.  The board set the property tax rate for the coming year at $0.00794 per hundred.  It's the same rate as last year.  In fact, it's the same rate as 2007.  

Unlike previous years, most Lubbockites will not face a hidden tax hike from so-called appraisal creep.  That's because on average, existing home values are the same as last year.
