LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD)- A suspect has been arrested in a Tuesday night fatal hit and run accident.
A 22-year-old man is in police custody after the deadly hit and run in Northeast Lubbock.
Tony Darrell is charged with manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid after police say he fatlly struck 47-year-old Ronald Deleon just before 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night.
Investigators say Deleon ws standing near a pickup truck at the carwash at Parkway Drive and Zenith Avenue when Darrell plowed into him, pinning Deleon between the vehicles. Deleon died a few hours later.
Darrell fled the scene but was arrested about two hours later on unrelated charges.
Police are still investigating, but say it does not appear the two men knew each other.
