Quow Cruises into 400 Meter Final

BERLIN, Germany - Renny Quow, a former NJCAA 400 meter champion when competing for the South Plains College Texans, finished in second place in the second of three semi-final sections with a time of 44.53 seconds to automatically qualify for the final scheduled for August 21 at 2:20 p.m. CST. Lashawn Merritt, the 2008 Beijing Olympic gold medalist in the event, won Quow's section in 44.37 seconds.

Quow, who finished seventh at the 2008 Olympic Games in the 400, takes the second fastest time into Friday's final and will run from lane three, inside the Olympic champion, Merritt.
