2,000 pound object falls on man Thursday evening

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Police, fire department and EMS responded to an industrial accident around 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the parking lot of 4011 19th, which is Lubbock Imaging Center.   Workers there were moving something that emergency crews describe as a 2,000 pound battery.

That heavy object fell and covered a man's chest.   Somehow, workers at the scene managed to get it off the man before the fire department's heavy rescue squad arrived.   As of our 10 p.m. newscast, information about the man's name and extent of injuries had not been released.  He was taken by ambulance to Covenant Medical Center.
