LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Three county officials will get a pay raise after all, not because the County Commissioners budgeted for it, but because a grievance panel thought it was the right thing to do.
Lubbock County Constables Carroll Thomas, Ronnie Vasquez and Joe Pinson asked for a yearly salary of $45,000, which is nearly a $10,000 increase.
The grievance panel approved a raise of just more than $4,500. So now, the constables' salaries will jump to a little more than $40,000. More protests by other officials are on tap for next week.
