Pickup truck plows into girl's room

LUBBOCK, TX. (KCBD)- A northwest Lubbock girl is safe after a pickup truck plows through her bedroom.

Police say the driver of the truck was headed North on Milwaukee at a high rate of speed around 9:45 p.m. Thursday night when he tried to pass another vehicle that had slowed down to turn left on 1st street.

The driver of the pickup truck lost control on the shoulder of the road, overcorrected and plowed into 6-year-old Katy Bullard's bedroom.

Her father, paramedic Ryan Bullard, said "It sounded like the house exploded."

Katy's mother found her underneath the bed on the other side of the bedroom.

Incredibly, despite the damage done to the house, Katy was not hurt. The driver also avoided injury.

Ryan says they had worried about this happening because they live on a corner lot.

There is no word on if the driver will face any charges.
