Red Raiders go green

Posted:

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Almost 7,000 students move into the dorms at Texas Tech this weekend, and the University is adding a little green to the red and black. With the help of a local group called "Green Queens", crews will collect students packing materials and recycle them instead of throwing them away.

This is University Student Housing's largest recycling project to date. Green Queens estimates it will keep 1,000s of pounds of waste from being dumped into Lubbock's landfill.
