Iraq says that three people were hurt when U.S. and British warplanes attacked civilian and military installations in a southern province.
Iraq did not say when the attack occurred, but the Iraqi News Agency report appears to refer to an airstrike Friday in which American warplanes bombed an air defense command and control site south of Baghdad.
The U.S. military says the site was targeted because it posed a threat to pilots patrolling the southern no-fly zone.Copyright 2003 Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed.
