Health concern has FMX changing name of the Bloody Holly Festival

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Organizers for what was named the Bloody Holly Festival say that because of a health condition of one of the band members, they will re-work the marketing of the festival. That includes changing the name.

This comes one day after members of Buddy Holly's family voiced their concerns about the name of the heavy metal festival. The family says the name is disrespectful to Buddy Holly and have asked for the name to be changed.

This will be the third year for the Bloody Holly Festival, an all day music festival featuring some of the biggest names in heavy metal. The soon-to-be-renamed festival takes place Sunday, September 6th at the Lonestar Event Center.
