New hotel lights up largest "Double T" in town

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The new Overton Hotel is lighting up the Tech campus to welcome back Tech students.

The "Double T" will be lit out of the windows of the hotel that face campus starting on Thursday night.

The Overton Hotel will serve as a new teaching tool for the restaurant hotel and institutional management program at Texas Tech starting this year.

The "Double T" can be viewed Thursday and Friday evenings on the Southwest face of the hotel, located at 2322 Mac Davis Lane at Avenue X.

The hotel opened July 25th and features 303 guest rooms, including the "Mac Davis" suite on the 15th floor and a fine dining restaurant.

Limited rooms are still available for football weekends. To make reservations, call 776-7000.
