Lubbock Cooper tax rate lower than previously anticipated

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - We have great news for people in one of the largest school districts in the NewsChannel 11 viewing area. Lubbock Cooper set its tax rate at about $1.49 which is 5 cents per $100 cheaper than previously anticipated.  

Officials say there is more taxable new construction in the district and some school projects are under budget.
