Lubbock woman admits to embezzling nearly one million dollars - KCBD NewsChannel 11 Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock woman admits she embezzled nearly $700,000.

Emily Read was sentenced late last week to almost 3 and a half years in federal prison. She admits she stole more than $600,000 from the Reaction Fitness Club of Lubbock. She also admits she participated in a Nigerian based scheme with fraudulent securities.

Emily Read must voluntarily surrender at a federal prison no later than September 25th.
