LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - There's a whole flood of new laws for Texans that take effect Tuesday.
Everyone in the car has to be properly seat belted. That includes both children and adults, even when riding in the back seat.
Also, persons under 18 cannot use a cell phone while driving. This new restriction applies to licenses issued Tuesday or thereafter to applicants who are under 18. It also applies to certain licenses issued prior to September 1st.
