Many people seem to be taking advantage of the warm weather and that means taking the time to water your lawn. In one Lubbock neighborhood the runoff from lawn sprinklers is finding it's way onto the street. When that happens, the water gets into the Frankford construction area and the contractor has to reconstruct the areas that get wet.
Every time that happens, construction of the soon to be seven lane street gets pushed back. Now the City of Lubbock is asking neighbors in the area to monitor their lawn sprinklers carefully. Construction workers have placed sandbags on the street to help block the water runoff from draining to the east side of Frankford.
If you live in the south Frankford area you can also do your part, and just be a little more cautious with your sprinklers. If all goes well, the city plans to finish the project by November.
