LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Researchers in Italy proposed a new theory after evaluating nearly 350 breast cancer patients undergoing radiation. They suggest that sipping a little red wine may alleviate some of the toxic skin effects associated with radiation.

Researchers found women who drank one glass of red wine each day, were much less likely to suffer toxic skin effects from radiation, than women who didn't drink at all, or drank more than one glass a day. Now they are looking into whether a glass of wine a day might help patients undergoing radiation for other types of tumors.
