More troopers out on Texas roadways for holiday weekend

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - For the next three days, all available troopers are patrolling state roadways, because many people will be hitting the road for the Labor Day weekend, officers are looking for any and all violations.

"We're encouraging people to please slow down. Speed is probably one of the biggest things we'll be seeing. Last year alone we wrote over 2000 citations for speed alone," says Corporal John Gonzalez with the Department of Public Safety.

DPS also encourages people to have designated drivers this weekend.
