LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - The Food and Drug Administration announced Tuesday the creation of the reportable food registry.
Companies are now required to alert the FDA of any problems with products within 24 hours of finding something suspicious. Problems include bacterial contamination, mislabeled allergens or elevated levels of certain chemicals.
This new food registry doesn't just apply to all products for people, but also for pets and should help avoiding serious contaminations in the future.
