LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Wednesday afternoon, Lubbock Police honored eight of their officers for outstanding work.  Officers Brent Hackett and Gus Imparlina were given the Medal of Valor for an April rescue at a Lubbock playa lake.

Sergeant Nathan White and Officer Michale Everett were given the Life Saving Award for talking a man down from an interstate bridge he threatened to jump from.  Sergeants Mike Steen, Ross Hester, Josh Crouch, and Corporal Tim Seeley were given the Distinguished Service Award for work above and beyond the line of duty.

"It's sometimes hard to decide who it should go to, because there's so many officers that do just a fantastic job day in and day out," Lubbock Police Chief Dale Holton said.  He says it's an honor to award his officers.
