Some Fighting Sioux not happy with Texas Tech artwork

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Some folks in North Dakota are not happy with Texas Tech.  Tech played the North Dakota Fighting Sioux last Saturday and won the game.  That is not the issue.

The issue is that North Dakota is already embroiled in a legal battle over the name "Fighting Sioux" which some consider to be racist.   Adding fuel to the fire was the cover for a set of stat sheets.

It shows Tech icons such as Mike Leach and Raider Red chasing and shooting an Indian on a horse.   Tech defends the art work, saying Texas Tech is always portrayed chasing their opponent on this publication whether it's a Texas Longhorn or Baylor Bear, etc.

That explanation has not soothed the concerns of an online opinion writer for the Grand Forks Herald.
