Car accident knocks out power in south Lubbock

LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - An early morning crash sends one man to the hospital and cuts power to several in south Lubbock.  

About 6 a.m. Sunday morning, a truck slammed into a utility pole near 82nd and Avenue P. The impact caused a utility pole to fall, knocking out power to residents in the area for about two hours.  

EMS took the driver to the hospital with critical injuries. Lubbock Police have not released any official information about the accident, so there is no word on what caused it.
