LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - August yielded both highs and lows for Lubbock area cotton. The heat helped irrigated-cotton but the lack of timely rain hurt dry land-cotton.
The latest High Plains forecast from the U.S.D.A. is 4.12 million bales, which is just a tiny decrease from the previous forecast. If the trend holds true, the High Plains will have produced roughly about 4-million bales of cotton during five of the last six years.
