LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - During these tough economic times, many families are looking for any way to save money. Two local sisters are now sharing their savings with all of Lubbock. They started their website "Free Stuff, Good Deals" back in April and now anyone can log on to save a little cash.
The goal of the website is to find good bargains, while leaving more green in your wallet. From free giveaways to hundreds of coupons to browse anyone can save hundreds. "All these coupons popping up, there's pages and pages of them. It's like printing cash out of your computer, except its legal," said Kathy Coffman, co-founder of the website.
Coffman and her sister Linda came up with the idea after always using coupons to save, but now they want to show other people how to get good deals. "It's the satisfaction of people getting to know they can do it too, and this is a bad economy. This is just something I can do to help," said Coffman. They do it for the money. The savings, not making it. "Haven't made a dime, other than all we're saving. It just makes me feel good, I like giving stuff away," said Coffman.
It's easy. Log on to the website and begin browsing hundreds of bargains. You can print out as many coupons as you like, get advice with "Coupon 101", learn about the best deals in town through store match-ups, and even find out local restaurant specials with the click of a button.
"Every time I got to United or MarketStreet I get $20 dollars off my $60 purchases. Here I knocked off $14; that's just like someone handing you $14 in cash," said Coffman.
Just by using her own website Coffman says she saves on average $300 a month and that bigger families of five or six could save up to $500.
