LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A New Deal man has been sentenced to three 99-year prison terms that will run concurrently.
47-year-old Sammy Pineda will spend the rest of his life in prison. Pineda was charged with five counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child younger than 14. He is accused of raping a young girl in 2006.
Pineda was arrested in December of 2007 and was jailed on a $100,000 bond. In February of 2008, 140th District Judge Jim Bob Darnell reduced Pineda's bond to $50,000.
