Local soldier given national award


LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - A Lubbock area soldier is honored for his service in Iraq. 

Specialist Reas Axtell has received the American Patriot Award for severe injuries during his Iraqi tour in 2007. Axtell is the first Texas soldier to ever receive the award, and the first veteran of the war in Iraq to be given the national level award.
