LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) - Around 300 people took part in this year's Lubbock Kidney Walk at Huneke Park Saturday morning. The walk raises money for the National Kidney Foundation, West Texas.
They provide programs and services for 79-couties in and around the South Plains. "Most people don't know a lot about kidney disease, and usually you don't know you have it until your kidneys fail. So, one of our missions is that we do early screening and education for folks in the community," Regional Vice President of the National Kidney Foundation Amy House said.
Participants also held a balloon launch to remember and honor those who are fighting kidney disease and those who've lost their battle.
