WBU Netters Receive Conference Honors

LUBBOCK, TX - Wayland Baptist setter Anika Voigt's big week at the Morningside Tournament landed her both Player and Setter of the Week honors in the Sooner Athletic Conference, it was announced Monday.

Joining Voigt on the awards list for Sept. 14-20 were her teammate, Staci Wilt, selected as Libero of the Week.

Voigt, a 5-7 junior from Potsdam, Germany, led the Pioneers to a 4-0 week, including a win over No. 10 Morningside, with 8.73 assists and 3.73 digs per game.  She made only one ballhandling error, and recorded two aces, a solo block, six block assists and 15 kills, earning MVP honors at the tournament. The win over Morningside was the program's first victory against a Top 10 school.

Wilt, a 5-5 junior from Hereford, Texas, averaged 4.71 digs and was perfect in 70 pass attempts and 48 serves. She also had two aces.
